Summary: I just wanted a good, servicable pad... 2010-03-07
Comment: ...and this one met my expectations and then some. I've had problems with other pads slipping off my extra-deep mattress. but this one fits just fine. I didn't expect some fancy, uber-fluffy designer pad, and felt this one was a good value. I haven't had it long enough for it to need washing, but I don't anticipate a problem.

Comment: We purchased two matress pads for two new beds we recently bought. The matress pads are a good quality and fit fine. We were not looking for pads that were extra thick, but just a good matress pad, and these seem to be well made.

I do not see thread count listed anywhere, but from the picture LinenSpa Cal-King Cotton Mattress Pad seemed like a nice mattress cover.
Unfortunately, the actual product is low quality. It would not be worth MSRP under any circumstances barring hyper-inflation, but an OK value for fifteen dollars or less. It is made in China and brought back to mind negative stereotypes associated with that.
PRO:
* Cal-King pad fits Cal-King mattress as intended.
CONS:
* It has low thread count and because of that the fabric does not look bright white but rather looks grayish.
* It is very light and thin. I was surprised by the weight of the shipping box when it arrived; I thought the box was empty. When I opened the shipping box, I was surprised again by the size of the plastic bag this CAL-KING SIZED pad fits in.
The low thread count and thin padding make this pad semi-transparent. I can see my mattress's flower design through the pad. Water resistant? Strongly doubt it, unless it was ScotchGuard-ed.
I bought SpaLinen mattress pad to replace a Ralph Lauren branded mattress cover, which, sadly, became damaged during a wash. Looking at two side by side, the difference is clear as day and night with Ralph Lauren mattress cover being thicker, significantly better padded, and having a smooth silky bright white top. The price for Ralph Lauren pad was in the forties at HomeGoods, so not that much more especially considering the quality. I will use SpaLinen mattress pad until it needs its first wash and get a higher quality replacement.
I am rating LinenSpa Cal-King Cotton Mattress Pad two stars because I got it for a low price, if not for that, it would be on its way back immediately.
