The superior quality of the Sleep Zone mattress topper has the feel of the 3lb toppers of other foam manufacturing companies and is far superior to the 2lb density cheap memory foam mattress toppers sold in major department stores like Walmart and Target. Memory foam is not generic. Different weights (density) and manufacturing methods create a different feel and a different support. The lower the density the less "memory" in the foam. This means that the foam makes less of an impression when an individual changes positions on the foam. A "cheap" memory foam pad will tend to have a lower density. Memory Foam with a high density will remember each impression for a longer amount of time. This is not always so ideal, especially if an individual tends to move frequently when sleeping. High density foam won't move with the individual and will hold the impression for so long that the individual will feel that he or she is rolling back into the old impression.
