I'm re-writing this review so it's less wordy (?) & w/another update. Brookstone didn't publish my review so I'm posting here.

After testing and liking at the store, I purchased the Biosense Topper for my hand-me-down, firm twin mattress. The 4" is comprised of ~2.5" foam (see picture). I liked that it combined the two (foam & pad) without the strong odor of foam (majority lessening after 24 hours of airing) and lumpiness of most mattress toppers. I also liked that it's heavy so it stayed in place.

Unfortunately, it did not hold up my 115 lb body (5'4" height) well. My hips sank and as a result, I not only woke up to shoulder pain (pain caused by my mattress), but severe low back pain (pain caused by Biosense topper). Leg wedges used with it did not help.

Update: To fill in loose space and see how it looked cosmetically, I placed the topper in my bed bug mattress cover. To my surprise, my shoulder and low back pain has been minimal. I'm not...Read more

We've been sleeping on this topper for almost 2 weeks now. First time we tried, we liked it. It was so comfortable and felt really nice as we are lying on a cloud. However, as days go by, the real quality of this topper began to show. As previous reviewer indicated, topper sang around heavy weight area (hip and back) causing uncomfortable and pain in the morning. We tried to rotate topper, but it didn't help.
I wish I could return this item, but Brookstone doesn't accept the return for this item, which is in my opinion not a good business practice. I feel like I'm ripped off. I don't think I will ever shop at Brookstone again until they improve the quality of the item. I'm planning to dispute the credit card charge for this unacceptable quality.
I'm not recommending this item to anyone. It looks really nice, which was the main reason that I decided to buy.

I purchased this directly from Brookstone and it made my relatively comfortable mattress feel like an old sagging mattress! Brookstone would NOT return it. I should have bought through Amazon, as they are much better with returns. Brookstone customer service was completely uncaring. They have lost my business forever.
