I have owned my Chilipad for 4 years, and can honestly say I cannot sleep without it. Night sweats and hot flashes are nearly impossible, but with this I sleep like a teenager. There are a few things I would change if I were the designer, however. The pad itself consists of a cotton pad in which there are silicone tubes thru which the water circulates (you really can't feel them when you are lying on it, however). This pad slips into a zippered cover that is just like a regular pocketed mattress pad. However, there is no way to adhere the inner pad to the outer pad. Now this may not be a problem for most people, but I have to sleep with the head of the bed elevated, and I have to unzip the outer pad and reposition/smooth out the inner pad about every 3-4 days. They do not recommend using sharp things on the pad, so no pins, no sewing on velcro, etc.
The fan can be noisy, so if you need absolute quiet to sleep, this may not be the solution for you. But I found that soft music...Read more

Just got one of these, and after two nights I think it is great. I have a latex foam mattress, and my only complaint has been that it is hot. The Chilipad fixed that issue. Good customer support too - needed for someone who does a poor job of reading the manual.
