Plush, waterproof, but melted in the dryer on low!,

This would be a great winter mattress pad for kids/adults that may have accidents at night. Our nearly three-year old soaked it and the mattress was totally dry. The fleece makes it puffy and warm (maybe not the best combo during the summer, but I think fleece is one of those warm in the winter cool in the summer things?). It also seems to be durable and well made, I really wanted it to work for us. So, I give it three stars for being plush, well-constructed, and waterproof, but I took away 2 stars because even though the care instructions advise that it can be placed in the dryer on low it melted in our dryer causing it to tear in spots where the material was melted to itself. If you plan to hang it to dry or have an air setting on your dryer that would be best. So, buy it if those care instructions work for you. Designer Living has a great product with the Comfort Classic Microfleece Waterproof Mattress Pad. And at a great price! It truly is waterproof ( I tested it before putting it on the mattress ) No plastic or vinyl sheeting to it at all, it's quiet to lay on. The size for the XL Twin is 39X80X12 which fits our new mattress, when others were too narrow and it helps keep the sheets on the bed better. I haven't washed it yet but I'm sure it will do fine, we have a new front load washer and drayer that have delicate cycles on them. I'm ordering another set today!

I was a bit deceived when purchasing this product, not from the description of the product itself, but rather from the reviews that were written about the product. I read that it didn't have any plastic in it. I read that it was comfortable, quiet, and a wonderful buy.
Let me be the one to tell you that it is NOT quiet. It is NOT absent of plastic. And, it IS hot to sleep on. My wife and I both have problems sweating where we are laying on it. This isn't because our house is hot. Trust me. It's winter here in Missouri and our house is over 100 years old and drafty. We sweat because the plastic fails to breathe like the nicer, but more expensive mattress covers.
Some reviews did mention that it was a bit warm, but I find that to be grossly understated. As for the reviews that claimed that it was silent and/or quiet, they are flat out lying.
