This review is mostly for those of you shoping around looking for padding, for your bed...and really don't have a clue what this egg crate 'thingy' is.
I have a bad back. One of the things us 'bad back' suffers learn is...get a stiff mattress. One of the second things we learn is, the mattress industry seems to think for a mattress to be stiff--it HAS to be hard as cement. The third thing we learn is...get some padding.
That's why you are here reading this.
So here it is, my review:
1. The dimensions are correct for length and width.
2. Mine came in at about 2 1/2 inches thick and has expanded out to 3...3 1/2 inches over the past three days and two nights.
3. Egg Crate...What on earth are they talking about? Well, it's a style and shape of the foam padding. It is similar to that of an eggcrate. If you look at a dozen egg (pack) from the store, you'll notice peaks and valleys. That's something similar to what an eggcrate...Read more

Egg crate mattress pad was as advertised and very effective in relieving morning back pain. Price was much better than local medical supply house and it was the exact same product. Buyers should be made aware however, that after arrival the mattress needs to be laid out for about 4 days before using as it is packed in a bundle and takes time to open up fully.EggCrate Foam Mattress Pad - Thickness 4 inches

I had to get a hospital bed due to my disability, it had a paper thin mattress that came with it and a plastic wrap over it. As it was rented I couldn't remove the plastic and it made me sweat profusely! Sleeping on it was miserable.
I ordered this 4" thick foam egg crate mattress pad and it was wonderful! I no longer sweat to death and I don't feel every little place where the bed raises and lowers. I sleep wonderful now!
I would recommend this to anyone who is thinking about ordering one. They really do help a lot!
