This review is from: LUXURY COLLECTION (Queen Size) - Camelot Haven III - Heated Electric Blanket Warming Heating Mattress Pad (White) I am a cost conscious shopper and have been looking for a mattress pad for some time with the features advertised for the Queen Size Camelot Haven III mattress pad. The dual "sensing" control for example with preheat features was one of those features. It does have dual sensing controls which is an excellent idea for our household where my wife is a regular 'fire pit' most of the time and I could be described as the iceberg that sank the Titanic. You would think that we should complement each other nicely but try putting iceberg feet on a 'fragile as glass', superheated wife and see where that gets you! Thus, the dual controls work well; however, I wonder greatly about their claims for "Smart Technology - Thermofine Warming System Senses and Adjusts, to Send Warmth when and where You Need It." because after you wait a good half hour for the preheat function to warm up the bed I have found that even the lowest setting gets to be too warm in the middle of the night. Anything above 3 on the pad is too hot for me but I love the preheat option (PH). I only use PH on the coldest nights. On cool nights I just turn it on L.
My bedroom doesn't get below 65 on a cold night. I suppose if the power went out long enough to get really cold in the house but then came back on and I needed to recover quickly I'd hop in the bed with my clothes on and turn it on max heat. I recommend putting a 2nd fitted sheet over mattress pad so that when you have spills/stains they don't soak through to the heated mattress pad and you have a sheet over it when you go to wash the linens you change on a regular basis. On my bed on the cold days I have: Mattress heated mattress pad fitted sheet fitted sheet myself flat sheet blanket comforter in the summer I remove the comforter and blanket but leave the heated mattress pad and sheets...Read more 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By Alex "Alex" (Madison, WI) - See all my reviews This review is from: LUXURY COLLECTION (Queen Size) - Camelot Haven III - Heated Electric Blanket Warming Heating Mattress Pad (White) I'm a cold sleeper and my bedroom gets down into the 50's at night. Some nights I'm sure even breach 50. I put this on level 1 or 2 out of 10 and feel completely comfortable.
I couldn't imagine using this all night on a level above 2 out of 10. Would be waaaay to hot. I set it to 10 about an hour before bed to get the bed nice and warm, get in, lower it to 1 or 2, and I'm comfortable all night. |
