This mattress topper is just right. It has some give to it but continues to stay firm. Where I currently am, the mattress had some springs out of place, making a night's rest into a restless and sore morning. This topper definitely helped me get some sleep and wake up without my back being knotted up.

Foam is firm - smell took about two days to dissipate - I aired mine on the front porch. Bought one for a futon and then two more for twin beds that actually need replacing. The foam does the trick for now anyway.
