- I needed one that fit a deep mattress. - I wanted a brand other than the Sunbeams that get get horrible reviews. - I wanted one that was warm enough and that you couldn't feel the wires on. I'm glad I went with this one. I was concerned that all the low voltage and other safety features would not allow this mattress pad to get warm enough... but it does - trust me. I pre-warm the bed for about a half hour on HI and then have to drop it down from 10 to 3 when I get in because it gets so warm. The wires are pretty much undetectable, and the pad is completely washable in a regular washer and dryer (on low settings). The controllers connect to the pad between the headboard and the mattress, but vertically, so you can hide a lot of the wires.
