I never got a chance to try this out. I've owned many mattress heating pads over the years and this is the only one where the sizeable wiring connector on the pad, was on top of the mattress about 5" in from the bottom edge. If you're over 5' tall, your feet/ankles will be lying directly on this boxy connector. This requires the wiring to come up over the bottom of the mattress onto the top of the pad. Several straight/sharp edges that will make sleeping almost impossible.
Why the connector wasn't placed on the bottom/verticle skirt of the pad, astounds me.

My husband and I couldn't live without this heated mattress pad. We live at 8,000 ft. in Colorado and even in the summer sometimes the evenings are cool enough to use the heat. What is really nice is that we each have our own individual control. We usually turn it on about 30 minutes before we go to bed and sometimes leave it on all night or turn it off once we get in and are warm. I highly recommend this item, and it is great when you are sick.

I thought heated matress pads were a novelty, but now that I own one realize how convenient and useful it is. Bought it because wife was always cold due to medications she takes. Even with a bedsheet, down comforter and blanket, she wore heavy warm pajamas and still wasn't enough. This heated pad performs so well that now she can wear light pajamas. After the initial pre-heat, she keeps the setting on low. It performs that well! I really like using the pre-heat setting so my side of the bed is warm by the time I get in.
We have a king size bed and the lenght of the cords are enough to reach each side of the bed in the back. They are not long enough for us to be able to put the controls on the side tables, so they lie on the floor or wedged in the bed frame. But I'm ok with that, not too much of an inconvenience.
