This review is from: Sunbeam Therapeutic Twin Heated Mattress Pad, 200-Thread-Count Cotton, White (Kitchen) I knew I wanted a heated mattress pad but was very reluctant to spend the "top dollar" that this model commanded for a twin size bed. However, I've found it to be absolutely worth it. Why? Mainly because it has three independent heat zones, but also because it doesn't bunch up at all. For pre-heating I set the "head" and "middle" sections on medium, and the "foot" section on high. When I turn out the lights to sleep, I'm able to turn off the head and middle sections entirely, and just leave the foot section turned down to medium. It is fantastic to have warm, comfy feet all night long! I've taken off one star for two reasons: (1) there is no "on" indicator light (the display goes dark to save energy) and (2) in the dark it is difficult to read the numbers for re-setting, even when the display is "awakened". Otherwise this product would rate a "5". 18 of 18 people found the following review helpful: By We've had this item for two weeks and it has been wonderful. Purchase it elsewhere though as the marketplace vendors are way out of bounds with pricing. I am always warm and the wife is always freezing so the dual zone control is a life saver for me and her. My wife has her settings as follows (2-head, 4-torso, 9-feet). I have mine set at 1,2,3; it required a few days of tinkering to get the ideal settings. The wife must be dead in her lower limbs because anything above three for me is really warm and I cannot sleep. This mattress pad gets really warm but my wife is completely content when she sleeps and we no longer use tons of blankets - the...Read more 17 of 19 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Sunbeam Therapeutic 200-Thread-Count Cotton Heated Mattress Pad (Kitchen) We bought this (expensive) queen-sized heated mattress pad after returning one other. The mattress pad is almost-great, but the deficiencies are quite annoying:
- there is only one controller, so only one of you gets to control the temperature or make corrections in the middle of the night - the controller provides a Preheat option (as you'd expect), BUT the preheat option only applies to the zones that are enabled. So if you want to, for example, heat your feet and head but not your middle section, then you can only preheat the head and feet. It should have been trivial for the designers to provide an option to preheat all zones (for instance, by clicking 'preheat' a second time) but they did not. - there's no control over the amount of Preheat time. In fact, no preference settings at all except for the heat level of the various zones. - the buttons that control which of six zones (three left, three right) are on, and the heat level for each, are hard...Read more |
