Some years ago I invested in one of those sleep number mattresses for my now departed wife and myself. While it was sold with a long guarantee, like most warranties, the warranty included was pro-rated so over the successive years as parts of the mattress were worn badly I was left buying a new pillow top and case for the air chamber components. As I went to install the new components I saw how badly worn the original items were, and how dirty and yellowed the original pillow top had gotten. Sweat and body oils wore through the linens and eventually stained the white pillow top.

With new components in place I'm doing the best I can to keep things nice and like new and that meant finding a product like this to use to keep body oils and such off the mattress. The mattress pad is thinner than I thought and the corners don't match up with the corners of the mattress. It's OK
